These medals contribute to their position on various leaderboards, unlocking progressively greater rewards as they advance. To ensure the integrity of task completion, the app integrates advanced technologies, including OpenAI's API, Apple HealthKit, and our custom verification solutions. Every year, millions of tons of waste end up in landfills and oceans, causing significant harm to wildlife and ecosystems. With increasing global consumption, the challenge of managing waste sustainably has never been more critical. However, through community service and collective action, we have the power to make a substantial impact.

The Growing Problem of Waste:

Our planet is drowning in garbage. From plastic pollution choking our oceans to hazardous waste contaminating our soil, the environmental consequences are severe and far-reaching. This not only disrupts natural habitats but also affects human health by polluting air and water sources.

The Power of Community Engagement:

Community service is a powerful tool that can mobilize individuals to participate actively in environmental preservation. By organizing or joining local clean-ups, recycling drives, and educational campaigns, volunteers can help reduce the burden on our environment.

Successful Initiatives Around the World:

Beach Clean-Ups: Coastal clean-ups have removed thousands of pounds of trash from beaches worldwide, preventing it from entering our oceans.

Recycling Programs: Communities that have implemented robust recycling programs see significantly less waste going to landfills.

Education and Awareness: Teaching people about the impact of waste and how to reduce, reuse, and recycle effectively leads to more sustainable behavior.

How Bio Battlers Contributes:

Bio Battlers, a pioneering app designed to gamify community service, integrates environmental challenges into its platform. Users can earn points and rewards for participating in eco-friendly activities like:

Using eco-friendly transport options like biking or public transit.

Participating in local environmental clean-ups.

Engaging in recycling and waste reduction challenges.

Environmental preservation requires urgent and collective efforts. You can make a difference today by downloading Bio Battlers and turning your commitment to a cleaner, healthier planet into a rewarding and fun experience. Let’s unite to tackle the trash problem and ensure a sustainable future for the next generations.

By fostering a fun and interactive platform, we aim to motivate young individuals to take meaningful actions towards environmental conservation. We are dedicated to becoming the largest volunteer app on iOS, creating a community where students can thrive and contribute to significant ecological change.

verification

We verify our user's activities in different ways depending on the activity. For example, the steps for all activities requiring verification through a picture are as follows. First, the user takes the photo from within the app, allowing us to track other Bio Battlers users near them and their time, location, and past uploads. Then, after verifying that nothing is suspicious, we send the photo to OpenAI, which tells our app whether the photo matches the expected description. For example, if the user submits an image that should have a trash bag, we ask OpenAI, "Is there a trash bag?" If users are flagged as suspicious but pass OpenAI's verification, we flag them as suspicious in our database. In the future, if the user is flagged multiple times, they risk being banned. For activities that involve transportation, like biking and taking a bus, we implement tactics such as using Apple HealthKit, tracking speed, distance traveled, and many other smaller metrics to help us verify that the user is genuinely doing what they say they are. With community events, we handpick certified organizers to host them. For example, if an organizer were to host a beach cleanup in your area, and you were to go, they would register your user ID as someone who attended the events, granting you community service hours for as long the event runs (Maximum of 10 Hours).

Currently, we are in the developmental stages of Bio Battlers. We have created the building blocks for our app (user authentication, basic verification, and basic UI). We plan to release early 2025! Until then, we will continue to roll out updates and start to collect some beta testers.
